CULTURE & HISTORY

Archeological Sites
witnessing the past
Greece offers an extraordinary range of archaeological sites, and Thessaloniki and Samothraki each highlight different chapters of its long history.
In Thessaloniki, landmarks like the Rotunda, the Roman Forum, and the Byzantine city walls reveal the city’s role as a major center through Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman times.
Samothraki, on the other hand, is home to the Sanctuary of the Great Gods, an ancient religious site famous for its mysterious initiation rites. This sanctuary is also linked to the Winged Victory of Samothrace, one of the most iconic sculptures of the ancient world (today, the original statue is on display in the Louvre Museum in Paris).
Together, Thessaloniki’s urban monuments and Samothraki’s sacred sanctuary showcase the depth and diversity of Greece’s archaeological heritage.
Food and Music
cultural immersion by sharing
Food and music are two of the most powerful gateways into Greek culture. Traditional dishes, often shared in a communal style, reflect Greece’s values of togetherness, hospitality, and celebration of simple, fresh ingredients. Music, whether joyful or nostalgic, expresses the emotions, history, and spirit of the Greek people. When these come together at a table—laughter, conversation, melodies, and flavors—they create an atmosphere that feels deeply authentic.
Through eating and listening, we don’t just observe Greek culture—we become part of it
